Conclusion of Day 7

19/7/2008

I had a terrible night. In the room under me they installed a new floor. My room was full of the taste of floor glue. Yeah, that is what you need at 11pm. I went down to the manager to tell him what i think of it but we just shrugged. Someone came than to my room and sprayed a little bit with a spray but after 30 minutes the glue was back. Damn it. I went to bed but it was so loud as if i would sleep at a construction site. Guess what: never stay at the New Yorker Hotel ok? Do me the flavour. I’m not a critical customer, but when someone is working at 2am i think that’s not right okay? The rest of the day i went shopping. I had the new iPhone in my hands but overall i just dont know if i want one. I miss the buttons, you know? It was really hard to buy some mitbringsl, hopefully my friends are not to disappointed. In the evening i went to the “Dark Knight - Batman 2″ Movie. All theaters in NYC where sold out. It was a truly amazing film. Manhatten was for one day Gotham City. Mr. Heather Ledger played the best joker i ever saw. He died just some streets away, but he will get an oscar for his play. Unbelivable. Overall i think it makes a huge different where and how you see a movie. Okay, that was that for Day 7. Not so exciting, i know, but really cool. Now i’m sitting at JFK and wait for my plain. 4:30 hours to go. Then the city that never sleeps will just appear under me. So, you all have me back soon. Hahahaha! And guess what: me and my father made really no step ahead.

Conclusion of Day 6

18/7/2008

Okay, i know i should have been out on the streets, but i stayed in bed and watched tv till 12pm. After getting out of bed i catched a cab and drove to my new pair of trousers. I found the shop on the internet and it is just awesome! They’re not cheap ($160) but in ten minutes i was happy and ready to go. I could went on a “buying spree” instead i went straight to the NBC shop. I walked in a crowded line until i realised that they are protesters! Dali Lama himself comes to town today. Funny, anywhere you go someone important is near by you or you just hit a spot which is shown tonight in the news. After that, i catched my Red Bull can and watched a live stream or our match. We finally won 7:0. We’re the team of the hour, we’re the best. It’s soo cool!! At 5pm i met they “tourguide bootcamp” at the seaport. We catched a boat tour half around the isle. It’s always a beautiful view. After that, i lost my subway virginity. This subway system just work’s but i really can’t figure it out why or how. It’s totally crazy. In the evening we went on a photo trip to TSQ. I also have made some little videos. It’s a little bit the navel of the earth at night. Now i’m totally whacked back in my hotel. Tomorrow i will go shopping (i found no present till today) and in the evening i will attend the first “Batman 2″ movie in the cinema just around the corner. Manhatten will be Gotham City.

Conclusion of Day 5

17/7/2008

A new day in bootcamp tourguide nazi. Just kidding. We ate breakfast at a huge bus stop and took then a bus tour through Uptown & Bronx. It was extremly hot day (31 Grad, but it felt like 51). The next heatwave is just some days away. After eating our lunch we went shopping on TSQ. In the Virgin Megastore i felt a surprising fresh air at the inside of my feets. My trouser got a hole. Yeah, thats exactly what i needed. Fuck. I went back to the Hotel and changed it. I had three trousers with me, but the third one was not mine but my mothers one, so i have only one trouser left. In the heat and the sweat it’s not unlikely that this one also gets a hole. Fuck fuck. I went straight to Macy’s but i don’t found any trouser in my size. I bought on for $12.99 in a little shop, but it doesn’t fit right. It’s my fallback trouser. I googled another shop in Avenue of the Americans which i will visit tomorrow. You feel really lonely (and honestly, also angry) when you don’t find any trouser in the world largest shop (Macy’s). Anyway, i got back to my room and relaxed a little bit. After our dinner we went up to the Empire State Building. The view is always very spectacular up there. Tomorrow i will hopefully buy me another trouser and around 2 pm i will sit with my laptop and a cool can of Red Bull in Bryant Park and will listening to the live stream of our UEFA Cup match. At this time i should be one of the most far away fan (i know this sentences is not correct, but i cant figure the right version out) of RBS. After this, we will take a boat tour around the isle. Now, i will jump in my bed.

Conclusion of Day 4

16/7/2008

Oh my god. My fathers girlfriend is a tourguide nazi. We ate breakfast at Starbucks and went then straight to TSQ. There we bought a two day tour pass for a bus. Then we hopped on and (yes, in the heat of the sun) drove down to Little Italy and Chinatown. Oh my fucking god, i hate these two parts of Gotham. In Chinatown everyone wants to sell a fake rolex or some other shit. You can also buy there some strange fish stuff (etc) which is still alive. I could have vomit if i stood there longer. After a coffee in Little Italy we hopped back on the bus and drove directly to the financial district aka wtc site. We walked to the WTC (actually you can see nothing there - no memorial etc. It was 2006 better.) and then straight to the Wallstreet. There we ate our meal in a McD. After this break we went back to our bus and drove our route back to Rockefeller Center. It looks now completly different than winter 2006. Trust me: NYC in winter is much more classy then in summer. I told them to go up to the “Top of the Rocks” Observation Deck on Rockefeller Center. We had a beautiful view there. After that we had a long walk back to our hotel. The tourguide nazi gave us a one hour break. I checked my mails and took a shower. I really needed this break. If you walk a long distance its still ok when the part of the city is very interesting, but to this day they dont saw ny only to the 51st street. Everything just starts there. I mean, no offense, but these muddy old style houses or any fucking fish shop - thats not the ny that i love. I took them later to “Ruby American” - finest cruisine on TSQ. They have a real good burger (and also rips or steaks etc). They have also the “we will refill your drink always” policy. Its nice. So was the waiter. She was young, beautiful and just cute. I would like there “to go” heh. She would be a nice cause to come back later. Everything beautiful has to end and so we took our nightbus tour. We drove to Chelsea, Financial District, up to Brooklyn and back to Gotham. Now, i’m totaly tired back in my hotel room. I only want to catch my cold coke and see the allstar game which was (or still is) tonight in the yankee stadium. Tomorrow we will drive up to the Bronx and usually to the Central Park. I hope it will be a better day. I also hope that i will fit in this group better in. It’s a little bit “they” and me.

Conclusion of Day 3

14/7/2008

You won’t belive what i bought today: they have 500ml Red Bull cans here! Haha, 500ml Red Bull, you must get total crazy when you trink that. But this is the real america: austrian medium is very small here. Never ever buy something “large” or “extra large”. Or do you want to trink 2 liter of coke in a cinema, hm? It rained tonight, so the weather is a little bit cold with some wind. On TV they discuss a bank which is insolvent. It is the fifth bank this year. Can you belive that? 100k $ are guaranteed to get back, but there are more than 10k customers who have more money and they will probably only see 100k of it. It’s also funny to see the Fox News. Fox is a mixture of “Kronen Zeitung” and “Oesterreich” with much more hate and suggestion. You get brainwashed on this channel. Anyway, nothing of that is important so i took a cabride to the Apple Store on 5th Ave. When i arrived i saw a fucking long line in front of it. I mean, a line? WTF? It’s longer than any on my way to New York City. I just wanted to play a little bit with the new iPhone because i’m not already sure if i want one. After that, i walked straight to the D. Trump Tower. I had problems to recognize it. Some shops we’re closed, you’re not allowed to see the public garden on the 4th floor and so one. So i just bough three ties in the main hall and walked straight back to the hotel over the 5th Ave. I stopped at McDonalds to get my meal and now i’m sitting in my room and wait for my father. He texted me some minutes ago. He just landed and he should be here any minute. Then, my holidays just starts again.

Update: My father and his family just arrived. After our meeting they went to McD for their meal. Afterwards we walked from 8th Ave over to the 5th Ave and then down to the Union Square. There we spend some time at Starbucks and walked back up. His girlfriend thinks she is the chief of holidays, but she doesn’t know ny like i do. Could be getting hard to get they on my way through nyc. In this moment they are on their room looking for a nice dinning location. I would probably preferre TGI Fridays just around the corner or something else, but i’m not hungry. So what. Tomorrow we will take a hop on, hop off bus tour through the city. Hopefully we will see more than ugly streets in Downtown Manhatten. Midtown is the place to be, baby! My half brother is also here with my daddy. He is now 14 years old. He’s freaky similar to me. We have some things in common that i never thought of. And Tom, thanks for your text message yesterday. I was surprised that i “heard” that in the Inroom TV Entertaining System they really never show a pussy in the movies. Is that crazy or what? The land of the free, the land of the war, the land of the censored pussys on tv. Oh my gosh, how sanctimonious!

Okay, the evening was not so great. On 10th Ave we ate pizza completely alone in the restaurant. The pizza was not so bad, but we had paper dish. I hope the rest of the week will be better.

Conclusion of Day 2

I laid in bed till 12:00 pm. It was neccessary. After shower, i went straight to the Madame Tussauds New York. It is 10 streets away from my hotel. When you’re in town, dont miss it. You often can’t see a difference between the visitors and the wax figures. It’s just awesome! You will see it on my photos. I also have one with me and Bill Gates. After that, i looked whats new on Time Square. I bought a nice “Iced Coffee Latte” from Starbucks and walked up the TSQ. Trust me, it’s always a vibrant and nice feeling to walk here. It’s so much more sophisticated then walking anywhere in Vienna (execpt some places in Salzburg, hehe). I visited the Virgin TSQ Store and bought some DVDs for me (A special Ghostbuster 1+2 Box Set and “The untold Storys of Stewie Griffin”). I need to revisit the place to buy some Family Guy DVDs for Tom the other day. Its cool that you can visit any store with food or coffee in your hand. In Austria thats often strictly forbidden. “You are not allowed to do this and that and dont even talk to me blabla”. Here you can walk with a coffe in your hand into the Virgin Store or with McDonalds (not me, another guy..) into Madame Tussauds. Crazy! I walked back to my hotel to get my broadway ticket. I booked the “Grease” Show on Broadway. Wow, that was just an experience! You can feel the vibrant style of the 60s and just want to dance to “You the one that i want”. I met there Chris from Chicago. I dont know if it is causal to introduce you to your neighboor, but its nice. After the show i walked back to the hotel and walked again on the TSQ. At night, its the place to be. It made click and i was fully in my nyc mood. I felt like someone who life there. And let me tell you that: the new yorker girls are very very beautiful. You can spot them out of a crowd of 100 women. They are completely
different than the austrian girls. I just want one of them! To go! Hehe. Here are also the chubby girls beautiful. I saw some of them, but i think they were brits. Brits are often chubby and beautiful - but they are brits if you know what i mean. I would like to have one of them too. And, for my friend on the Knappenhof: NYC is still a Mercedes Town and not a BMW city hehe. I also saw my own modell! The first thing i saw on my HD LCD TV in my hotel room was a episode of Family Guy (yeah!) and after that a teaser for the all brand new BH90210. Yeah yeah! Hughie, you must buy a HD TV and also get a HD Signal and a BlueRay DVD Player. When i saw that difference once, you will never switch back the the blurry old style. Trust me. And that was Day 2.

Conclusion of Day 1

I had to stand up early. It’s a bad start into the day when you need to stick a needle into your stomache. Hughie was so nice to transfer me to the airport. I was a little nervous on the way there. We arrived just in time, so i had not wait long for the airplain. I expected a little Dash 8 airplane, but the Austrian switched to a another, bigger plane. I had a whole three seater for me alone. Even the seat was very cosy. Everything was fine, except that our machine was switched off when we arrived at the runway. Thats never a good sign. We were told that we have a “communication problem” and we got rolled back to our parking position and some mechanics will hopefully fix it fast. Gnaaa! Okay, after about 30 minutes the problem seemed to be fixed, so we rolled back to the runway and now we started our flight to Geneva, Swiss.

The Genevea Airport is a little confusing and small. I had no guess where i can get my boarding card for the next flight. After some searching i found a nice lady from Swiss which gave me my boarding card. There were soo many french people on the airport, it was very disturbing to hear them. This language just sucks big time. The boarding for the flight was no problem at all, i had my seat on the aisle but the seat was a little bit narrower than the seat in the Austrian. The 8:30 hours just flew away. I read very much, listened to my iPod, and often stand up for reading. The other people just looked confused, but hey - fuck them hehe. Through the small width of the seat i just got some bruise on my hips, so it was neccessary to stand up sometimes.

I needed to fill out two visa cards. I dont get it why i always fill in in the wrong line. I had no problem at the boarder security, and soon i got my luggage and walked to the cab. One hour later i was in my hotel room. It is a little bit smaller than it was the last time, the hotel is not so midtown as the other was but overall its a huge hotel and i’m in the 22nd floor with a fuck window view. In Vienna i already bought a kino ticket for the evening. I was very tired but the movie (Wall-E) was soo cool. This robot ist so lovely. You just need to what the film. For me, its the film of the year. You have no fixed seat in the cinema, you just take the seat you want. And, as a hint: take a jacket with you, because the americans climate everything. And when i say climate, i mean fuck…is thats the moscow mode or something? After the cinema i went to duane rade to buy something to trink and then just walked back to the hotel (everything is just around the corner). After that, i was happy to lay down in the bed after a long long day.

So long - so gone

11/7/2008

Ready to go sozusagen. Also habe ich was ziemlich weit hinten genommen.

logoff.

Final Conclusion

10/12/2006

Back in whacky Vienna. Everything looks very small, its so quiet, so not NYC. I begin to miss the time there, but i also feel at home. And…NYC will always be just 9 Hours away. The next destination? Maybe France, maybe Israel or something like that.

Please fasten your seat belt..

2/12/2006

I love you all, kiss kiss and bye.

Also nichts neues.
